WellChild

Getting sick children better

WellChild is the national charity for sick children committed to helping children and their families throughout the UK as they deal with the consequences of serious illness and complex conditions. The charity focuses on three key areas: care, support and research.

WellChild's specialist team of Children's Nurses work with sick children and their families across the country to help ensure that children with complex care needs can leave hospital and return home, and are vital in the prevention of frequent re-admissions. Further support is offered in the form of the dedicated WellChild Helpline, which allows the public to speak directly to qualified nurses about children's health issues in complete confidence.

More practical help is provided by the WellChild Helping Hands scheme, which enlists the support of volunteers from UK companies and organisations to tackle individual home development projects. And when it comes to research, WellChild has invested more than £20 million in ground-breaking children's health research projects.

Marisa Peer - Therapist and Weight Loss Expert

Celebrity Fit Club’s Marisa Peer’s book, ‘You Can Be Thin’, was a huge success when it launched earlier this year. Serialised in the Daily Mirror, written up in The Daily Mail, The Mail On Sunday's You magazine and Elle, it helped her clients and readers reprogramme how they feel about food.

Voted Best hypnotherapist in Tatler magazine’s “Britain’s 250 Best Private Doctors 2007” and Men’s Health magazine “Best British Therapist” list, Marisa has drawn on her skills to teach people how to change their attitude towards food rather than dieting to lose weight.

The reader’s progress through the book is a hypnotherapy treatment in itself.

Next came 'Gillian McKeith's Ultimate Health Plan', 'Shopping Guide' and the latest bestseller, 'Food Bible', which also hit No.1 nationally on its opening day of sale earlier this year.
